Shifting paradigms for Wellbeing
What is Rewiring for Resilience ?
We at plugH believe that resilient people make resilient organizations.
Defined as the ability to recover from setbacks, to adapt well to change, and to keep going in the face of adversity, resilience is a crucial quality that sustains people and makes them live a meaningful life. Resilient people possess a positive world view and improvise to deal with challenges.
We are convinced that resilience is not just a rare quality some people are born with, but something that can be learnt. Neuroplasticity can be defined as the ability of the nervous system to change its activity in response to intrinsic or extrinsic stimuli by reorganizing its structure, functions, or connections.
Our specially curated Rewiring for Resilience sessions leverage the phenomenon of neuroplasticity to help people develop alternate methods of thinking
Our belief is that every area of wellbeing needs a cure. However, the cure should not take the attention away from prevention because as with any aspect of wellbeing a cure is always a temporary solution. Therefore, in the area of “Mental Health” or “Emotional Wellbeing” as we prefer terming it ‘care’ solutions are those which give people access to a resource / facility to deal with their current problems. A 24/7 counseling line, any forum to meet and talk to counselors to seek help are ‘care’ solutions and are the need of the hour. Their importance can never be over stated.
However, if we stay with just that and do not work on raising the immunity of people they will keep needing the care solutions forever. We therefore believe that what people need to build this immunity / resilience is in developing an alternative way of thinking and viewing the world. The purpose of Rewiring for Resilience is to achieve that.
